A Practice of Attention
Ergonomics begins with a simple question: how can the environment support the person who inhabits it?
For Bluecony, it has never been only about furniture, measurements, or achieving a prescribed position. It is about understanding the relationship between the body, the object, the activity, and the space around them.
Since 2008, we have explored this relationship through workplace ergonomics, seating, movement, and meditation. Years of working in this field have taught us that a useful posture is not a shape to imitate. It is a balance that allows the body to feel supported without becoming constrained.
What Experience Has Taught Us
There is no single posture that is right for everyone.
Bodies differ. Activities change. What feels comfortable for a few minutes may become tiring over time. A posture that supports concentration at work may not be the one that allows stillness during meditation.
This is why ergonomics cannot be reduced to a universal formula. It begins with attention: attention to the person, to the task, to the duration, and to the signals the body provides.
Rather than asking the body to conform to an object, we believe the object should create the conditions for adjustment, movement, and choice.
A world of possibilities
Our selection extends beyond what is presented online. We work with a range of established ergonomic furniture brands and can help source specific chairs, desks, or workspace solutions according to your requirements.

Posture Is Not Stillness
The body is made to move.
Even a well-balanced posture becomes uncomfortable when held for too long. Small changes in position are not signs of poor posture; they are part of the body’s natural way of regulating effort and redistributing pressure.
Good support does not immobilize the body. It allows movement to occur naturally and makes it easier to transition from one position to another.
For us, posture is therefore not a fixed destination. It is an ongoing conversation between stability and freedom.
A useful posture supports presence without demanding immobility.
From the Workplace to Meditation
Bluecony’s understanding of posture first developed through years of working with individuals, organizations, designers, and workplaces across North America.
Different environments presented different challenges, but one principle remained constant: the most successful solutions were those that respected movement, individual variation, and the realities of everyday use.
This experience gradually informed our exploration of meditation and floor sitting. Although the context changed, the fundamental questions remained the same:
How is the body supported?
Where does effort accumulate?
Can the person breathe and move freely?
Can the posture be maintained without becoming the focus of attention?
These questions continue to guide our work today.
Knowledge Built Over Time
After more than seventeen years, our understanding continues to evolve. Every person, practice, and environment brings another perspective.
We do not believe ergonomics should tell people how they must sit. We believe it should help them understand what support feels like, recognize when change is needed, and explore the positions that allow them to feel both stable and free.
Tell us about your needs, and we will help you find a solution that brings together comfort, movement, functionality, and enduring design.
